Hello everyone!
First of all, thanks for your patience. It has been a while since I was a regular blogger on this great and still very popular site, Hyper-V.nu. Even though the blogging has come to a standstill, we’re still seeing a thousand visitors each day, thanks to the high quality content that is still valuable today. I’m sure that with increasing activity on this blog, we will soon see much higher numbers. Also many thanks to the sponsors, Altaro, 5Nine, Veeam and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, for keeping faith in Hyper-V.nu.
As most of you know, my fellow blogger, colleague and buddy, Marc van Eijk, has moved into a great new position at Microsoft. Marc is now Senior Program Manager at the Enterprise and Cloud Group (ECG) at Microsoft. Within the Customer Architecture and Techology (CAT) team, he will be focusing on Microsoft Stack.
Another long time Hyper-V.nu blogger, Peter Noorderijk, stopped blogging some time ago. Peter has been Managing Partner at LiveCare for some time now, an inovativ subsiduary focusing on managed services in complex customer environments. LiveCare also manages our internal HPE/APC stack, the Microsoft Cloud platform running Azure Pack, based on HPE ProLiant Servers, HPE Storage and HPE Networking.
Hopefully Mark Scholman, Darryl van der Peijl and Ben Gelens will keep contibuting to Hyper-V.nu, although Mark has also started a new blog called AzureStack.eu focusing on themes about Microsoft Azure Stack and related topics. Ben is also blogging and creating videos on several other platforms such as PowerShell Magazine and on Channel 9.
Darryl has kept up the blogging for Hyper-V.nu, albeit at a lower pace than he was used to. I guess the very busy work schedule, the MVP responsibilities and all the other chores we have to deal with make it hard to keep on blogging at a regular interval.
Personally, apart from the many cloud oriented projects I have been running, I also endured some hardship, losing both parents and running into some medical problems. Of course this comes with age, starting my 60th year before long and my 33rd year in the industry.
I managed to keep the Azure Pack Wiki and the Azure Stack Wiki up-to-date. The links at the top of the blog are also updated, so hopefully you still find them useful.
But wait, Windows Server 2016 is just around the corner and is expected in the 3rd quarter timeframe, so there will be plenty to blog. Remember what a sea of change, Windows Server 2012 brought? Well sit tight, because Windows Server 2016 will flood the planet with awesome new functionality, all targeted at building the greatest of clouds: Azure Stack or any private cloud based on Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016.
I conciously refrained from blogging about pre-releases as so much was still in development and PowerShell code changed with each technical preview.
Expect a good number of blogs by me and my fellow bloggers, helping you succeed in your own environment.
